Description

HP 5087A Distribution Amplifier is a used device typically used to take a single input frequency  and distribute it to up to twelve other devices.

A passive splitter could do the same thing but each output port would attenuate the original  signal. The advantage of the distribution amplifier is that the original signal strength is not attenuated by the splitting. As the name suggests the input frequency is amplified to offset any losses in the splitting process.

The amplifier offers a choice of three input channels and twelve output channels with excellent isolation between the channels.

The three input channels of the HP 5087A Distribution Amplifier will accept input frequencies 10 MHz, 5MHz, 1MHz or 100 kHz input in any combination with the number of outputs for each channel selectable up to a total of 12 outputs.
