Description
Satcom Solutions has unused Mission Microwave JAVELIN Ka-Band block upconverters available in 50W and 100W configurations. These units have never been in service, making them an excellent opportunity for operators who want proven hardware without factory lead times.
The JAVELIN family is widely deployed across maritime, mobility, and gateway networks and is known for efficiency, compact size, and modern control interfaces.

Frequency Clarification (Important)
I double-checked the configuration — both units are single-band, 29–30 GHz (Band 1).
Band 2 (30–31 GHz) is generally allocated for military/government networks. Most commercial, maritime, and enterprise programs do not require Band 2, so for the majority of buyers these units are exactly what is needed.
If a project specifically requires military Ka capability, operators usually procure equipment through dedicated government supply channels.
Real-World Experience
We previously completed a project aboard a cruise vessel using military Ka resources in GEO. With Mission equipment on a high-performance tracking system, a 100W class BUC supported throughput approaching gigabit levels. Outstanding hardware — powerful, stable, and one of the reasons Mission products are so respected in the industry.
They are also among the more expensive options when bought new.
Band 1 vs Band 2 Snapshot
| Feature | Band 1 (29–30 GHz) | Band 2 (30–31 GHz) |
|---|---|---|
| Primary User | Commercial / Enterprise | Military / Government |
| Common Services | Commercial HTS & mobility | WGS, Mil-Ka, NATO |
| Access | Public / leased capacity | Restricted / regulated |
| Spectrum Environment | More congested | Typically quieter |

Market Insight
Comparable new systems in this power class have historically traded in the $45K–$70K+ range depending on configuration and procurement timing. Available inventory can dramatically reduce both cost and deployment delays.
