Description
satellite systems corporation Model 4500 L-Band to 70 MHz Downconverter
The Model 4500 Downconverter is designed to down convert a 950-1525 MHz frequency band to a 52 to 88 MHz IF signal.
Satellite Systems Corporation Model 4500 L-Band to 70 MHz Downconverter is a used and fully tested frequency converter that is used to convert the L-Band signal from an LNB to an IF 70 MHz signal suitable for use by a modem or demodulator.
To test this down converter we simulated an LNB using an Agilent frequency generator. We set the generator to output a CW at 1200 Mhz. Then set the corresponding IF frequency into the SSC 4500, shown in the photograph above.
The blue IF cable is the 70MHz output and is connected to our HP8593E Spectrum Analyzer, set to a center frequency of 70 MHz. The black cable with the F-Type connector is receiving 1200 MHz from our Agilent 83620B frequency generator. Normally this connection would be to an LNB, and the SSC 4500 does provide DC voltage for the LNB.
The frequency generator shows a CW of 1200 MHz and the Spectrum Analyzer displays the downconverted 70 MHz signal.
