Description
The MCL MT3200A 400W Ku-Band TWTA has had very light use, with extremely low operating hours. The filament time is only 772 hours, and the operational logs show limited on/off cycles, consistent with use on a broadcast truck.
In general, 20,000–30,000 hours is considered low usage for this type of amplifier, while anything under 1,000 hours is considered exceptionally low—close to new condition.
Test results also show a Helix current of 2.8 mA at maximum output, which is an excellent reading. Lower helix current indicates better tube health and longer expected service life.
The unit operates across the full 13.75 to 14.5 GHz Ku-Band range.
